Publication Design
A monotone publication design for “Baring Life and Lifestyle in The Non-Place” by Sarah Sharma. Non-places are spaces of transit, such as airports, theme parks, highway stops, hotels, etc. They are spaces letting people to pass through, people inside the spaces identified only upon entering and leaving,
(1) Full CMYK black printing on black paper for cover to visualise the experience of navigating the non-places;
(2) Clean typography to show the anonymity and neutrality of the non-places;
(3) Cropped and scattered images, narrow spreads and layout setting to emphasize the continuous movement and dislocation inherent in fragmented spaces of non-places.
