Brew Ripple is a self-initiated typographic exploration inspired by the movement of coffee dripping into a still surface. The project begins with a simple horizontal stroke representing stillness, which gradually evolves into gestures of dripping and expanding ripples.
These graphic movements form the structural language of the typeface. Each letter is constructed from fluid strokes that echo the rhythm of brewing coffee — a quiet motion that slowly spreads and transforms its surroundings.
Conceptually, the typeface reflects the uniqueness of specialty coffee: how a single drop can influence the still market, creating ripples of change. Like coffee itself, the ripple extends outward, bringing people together and forming a shared cycle within the community.
From a single stroke to a complete alphabet, Brew Ripple explores how small movements can generate wider influence.
