Daily Rainbow
A collage that I made which inspired by Ugo’s works.
/ a study of Ugo Rondinone’s works /
Ugo loves to use rainbow colours in his works, as it includes the whole colour spectrum. The Rainbow is a primary symbol that everybody can relate to, from a child to an older person. Like the rainbow, Ugo transforms everyday objects into his works, such as animals, stones, shoes, and masks, allowing recognisable images to speak to all of us. Hence, the collage is formed by objects we can see everywhere.
/ a little about the artist /
Ugo Rondinone is a well-known Swiss artist who has exhibited his primarily figurative works in galleries, museums, and outdoor public spaces worldwide. He is known for his mastery of various media, including sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, architecture, video, and sound installation. He has never limited himself to a particular material, no more than a single discipline, to extend the Romantic tradition in works as sensitive to the passage of time as to the nuances of body language and the spoken word.
Ugo is widely known for his temporary, large-scale land art sculpture, Seven Magic Mountains (2016–2021), with its seven fluorescently-painted totems of large, car-size stones stacked 32 feet (9.8 m) high.
